How do i get tech points and uber tech points? // ROBOCRAFT

Tech Points

Progress in Robocraft is attained by unlocking new tech with tech points.

Tech includes more powerful weapons, armor, and movement options, such as rail guns and aero foils that allow robots to fly.

Tech Points

Tech Points (TP) are required to unlock tech. Tech Points are divided into tiers, from tier 1 (least powerful) to tier 10 (most powerful). Tier 1 tech points unlock tier 1 tech, tier 2 tech points unlock tier 2 tech, and so on.

Tech Points are earned by engaging in battle. You’ll always get at least 1, but you’ll get more for doing better. The tech points earned depend on the tier of the robot. For example, a tier 2 robot earns tier 2 tech points.

Uber Tech Points

Uber Tech Points can unlock any tech. Convert regular tech points to Uber Tech Points by spending Game Cash (GC). However, since Tech Points are easily earned it’s not recommended to convert TP into Uber Tech Points. Just play the game. However, I must admit, I’ve purchased new armored blocks from the next tier with uber tech points. Still, I think its best to keep it to a minimum. It’s best to progress naturally.

Tech Tree

Press T to view the Tech Tree in the garage. An intimidating grid of hexes will appear. Within each hex is a technology that can be unlocked. Hover over an item to see a description of what it does, such as weight, damage, and robot ranking.

The number inside the star is the tier of tech points required to unlock the item. The number beside the star is the number of tech points of that tier required.

To purchase a tech simply click the tech and choose to spend tier tech points or uber tech points.

How to Earn Tier 2 Tech Points

New players are sometimes confused on how to earn tier 2 Tech Points. This is understandable, because the game doesn’t explain it, although some info is available in the FAQ.

To earn tier 2 tech points simply increase the robot tier of the robot to level 2. Robot tier is displayed in two places: the bottom of the screen and in the garage.

To increase the tier of a robot add blocks to it. The slider will move further towards level 2. Any easy way to increase robot tier to 2 is to unlock tier 2 weapons and keep adding them to the robot. It will soon be level 2.

You don’t need to use galaxy cash. Keep adding level 1 armored cubes and level 2 guns to your robot and it will become tier 2. Then you’ll get tier 2 tech points.

this tech system makes no fucking sense whatsoever. somehow, by getting to tier 2 quickly i can’t unlock any gun technology because i didn’t use my tier one points in that direction? this is a deal breaker and i’m playing something else now.

This is a lie, I am in teir four and I have been in and out of battles for the past half hour, More then fifteen. I have accumulted only seven tech points, and have had a lot of matches with a lot of damage dealt. I recieved none for that round. Ever since the update I have been getting less and less to the point where I cant compete against players maximizing their robot while I shutter in teir three gear.

I think you have to win or achieve a kill to receive a tech point. don’t quote me on this.

I have found that I get the most from capturing, or helping capture, the enemy base. I believe that you (primarily) get money from dealing damage, but you (primarily) get tech points from capturing bases.
